Norman joins us for the 3rd of his 4 summer parties Up On The Roof this July, bringing back to life his legendary ‘Shake and Fingerpop’ party from over 30 year aho.
Cementing his reputation as co-founder of the then London pirate radio station KISS FM, Norman originally coined the term, and subsequently fostered, the emerging ‘Rare Groove’ scene in the UK, filling the airwaves and many warehouse parties under his ‘Shake and Fingerpop’ guise, with the best in 70s & 80s grooves and nascent house cuts.
The founder and master of funk and soul brings the irrepressible vibe back to his favourite Brixton rooftop, don’t miss out.
Formed in 2016 by lifelong friends William Foot and Lewis Henderson, Deptford Northern Soul Club set out to distance themselves from the pretence often associated with the Northern Soul scene. DNSC’s aim is to to deliver fresh and exciting journeys to the next generation of Northern Soul lovers whilst offering something different (and gimmick free) to the old school fans across the UK & Ireland, uniting them in the process. Following a successful monthly residency at London’s Bunker Club in Deptford, over the last three years they have been invited to perform at Nottinghill Arts Club, Peckham Soul, Deptford Pride, End of the Road Festival, Norman Jay’s Good Times Carnival Party, Green Man Festival and a stand -out performance on Glastonbury’s William’s Green tent.
